Baby Care Training

Health care professionals agree that it is in the interest of your child’s health
to have him cared for in his own home environment for the first two years.

The Pikanini Baby Care course will equip you (as parents) or your nanny to care for your baby at home.

The training offered by Pikanini will make you and /or your au pair more confident and efficient in caring for your baby. Literacy is not a prerequisite as the manual is well illustrated and practical applications are done throughout the workshop to maximize the learning opportunity. The course is presented in your own home-environment with practical demonstrations using your own equipment.

A certificate of completion is presented to all delegates. A manual is included in the course fee, so that employers and delegates may use it as a reference. The course is presented in English.

Outline of Course:

  • Safety in & around the house

  • Sleep safety

  • General sleeping & routine tips

  • When baby is ill and what do I do?

  • Changing nappies & nappy rash

  • Bottle sterilization & preparation of feeds

  • Personal hygiene

  • Feeding

  • Burping

  • What do I do with a crying baby?

  • Any other questions that might arise.

Duration: 4 hours
